Course Duration

This course is delivered over 26 weeks (6-month) in 2 terms with no holidays. Classes are scheduled for 40 hours per week (4 days per week + 8 hours supervised training). Monday/Tuesday (Diploma units) / Thursday/Fridays (Advanced Diploma units). However, if you have done/doing Diploma of Hospitality Management (SIT50416) you only need to attend 20 hours per week to take Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management (SIT60316) units in 6-month.

Full Course Fee: Dual Qualifications: Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management (SIT60316) + Diploma of Hospitality Management (SIT50416) (Aus): $12,600 inclusive of all learning materials or $7,100 inclusive of all learning materials if you need to do Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management (SIT60316) course only in 6-month (You have done or currently pursuing Diploma of Hospitality Management (SIT50416) at PCBT or in another college (subject to admissions requirements)).

Pathways Into the Qualification

You may enter the qualification through Certificate IV In Commercial Cookery – SIT40516 or with acceptable industry experience in the field of hospitality (PCBT does not have tools to assess clients under this pathway as it is required RPL Kit.). You may also eligible to enter this qualification through the Diploma of Hospitality Management (SIT50416) or currently pursuing Diploma of Hospitality Management (SIT50416) at PCBT or in another college (subject to admissions).

Live Kitchen, Real Work

Most students entering this course are with all undertaken practical components during Certificate IV and III In Commercial Cookery courses/qualifications; so most components of this course will be theory-based classes.

Study and Assessment mode

This course is delivered on face-to-face classroom based. Various structured activities and industry excursions are included to provide an opportunity to explore the current industry practices. Assessment is competency based. Industry placement or assessment in a live industry environment is required for specific units of competency within this qualification.

Those students who wish to undertake this course should meet the following academic and English language requirements.

Upper-intermediate Level of English or

Duolingo English Test Score of 85-90 or

ELTS Test Score of 5.5 overall (General or Academic) or

TOEFL iBT Test Score of 46 or

PTE Academic Test Score of 42 or

Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 162 or

OET Pass Grade B or

IELTS test score of 5 or equivalent with at least 10 weeks ELICOS

IELTS test score of 4.5 or equivalent with at least 20 weeks ELICOS

You may be exempted to provide evidence of English Language competence if:

you have studied for 5 years in an English speaking country.

you have completed at least 6 months of a Certificate IV OR higher level course in an Australian Education Provider under a student visa.

you have successfully completed a foundation course in Australia

you have successfully completed the College English Placement Test.

you have successfully completed your High School or higher tertiary qualification in English Language.

To be able to achieve this qualification, students must have successfully completed:

  • Cert III in Commercial Cookery – SIT30816
  • Cert IV in Commercial Cookery – SIT40516
to undertake the remaining units (as per credit transfer application for the units you have done in the above-mentioned qualifications), you are required to complete 6 units of Diploma of Hospitality Management SIT50416 and 7 units of Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management SIT60316:
