PCBT Counselling services during COVID-19

Notice to PCBT students/trainers:
.
Dear All,
.
As you are aware that one of the PCBT students was tested positive as the student attended our kitchen facility (campus) in Northbridge on Tuesdays (27th of April) and Wednesdays (28th of April) last week. The number of students in that particular class was 18 approx.
.
We have been in touch with the WA Health Department since yesterday afternoon and following their instructions in terms of releasing more information and providing evidence they required at this stage.
Currently, we are in a safe and comfortable position as per WA Health Department advice just a few minutes ago and want us to carry on as usual for our main campus and tiling facility (and for Kitchen facility – Northbridge can be used after sanitisation and disinfecting the whole premises in a thorough manner).
.
As per some of our colleagues’ and students’ concerns, you do not need to do the covid test if not feeling flue-like systems. This is the Department of Health advice to us when we ask them about this concern on Saturday. However, this is your choice to undergo a covid test if you wish even if you do not feel any symptoms.
.
For the safety and wellbeing of our admin staff, trainers and students, PCBT decided to go for online training using Zoom (From 03rd of May till 07th of May, 2021). Please note, there will be no scheduled kitchen classes in
our northbridge kitchen until next week Friday (The 07th of May, 2021). Those classes have a kitchen class next week will continue to deliver theory classes through ZOOM.
.
C3D0-2 will not be scheduled for any classes for the next couple of weeks until the WA Health department assesses further to continue monitoring results for all the close contacts.
T3A0 & T3A1 will be rostered as normal and students can attend the facility for their classes along with their trainer next week as normal.
.
Trainers’ Zoom accounts will be activated shortly and please convey to your students the meeting link at your earliest so that they can join classes without any hassles.
.
*PLEASE KEEP A CHECK ON YOUR EMAILS, IF ANYTHING COMES UP URGENTLY WE WILL ADVISE YOU ACCORDINGLY. GET TESTED AND STAY SAFE.
.
Best regards,
PCBT Management

COVID-19 coronavirus: Travel to WA

Last updated: 9 June 2020 at 8.00am

PCBT Enrolled students who are not currently in WA but in Australia may not be able to enter WA to start their courses from July 2020 unless otherwise rules are changed. If you are not eligible to be exempted from entry to WA, please email your PCBT Change of Enrolment/CoEs form or Withdrawal form (PCBT Change of Enrolment Application Form (for Deferment/Suspension, Extension, Transition, Withdrawal) or use Online Change of CoEs form) to admissions@pcbt.wa.edu.au . PCBT is not offering its courses using the online facility from 20 July 2020. Students must attend their classes as per timetable provided by our SSO team. All health matters regulated by Government agencies are in place to facilitate a safe environment for our students studying at PCBT campuses.

Exemptions for entering WA from interstate or overseas.

Reference: https://www.wa.gov.au/organisation/department-of-the-premier-and-cabinet/covid-19-coronavirus-travel-wa

Strict border controls are in place to limit the spread of COVID-19.

You cannot enter Western Australia without an exemption.

Anyone who thinks they meet the criteria outlined in the Quarantine (Closing the Border) Directions may apply for an exemption.

Exemptions apply for:

  • senior government officials in the course of duties
  • members of the Commonwealth Parliament and their staff
  • active military personnel on duty in WA
  • specialist skills not available in WA
  • emergency service workers
  • judicial officers or staff members of a court, tribunal or commission
  • persons carrying out a function under a Commonwealth law
  • health services, when requested by the Chief Health Officer of the Department of Health
  • FIFO workers and their family members
  • urgent and essential medical treatment
  • attending a relative’s funeral or visiting a relative who is critically ill or whose death is imminent
  • transport, freight and logistics (not including airline and maritime crew members)
  • compassionate grounds
  • otherwise seeking approval to enter WA.

How do I apply for an exemption?

G2G Pass Logo

If you meet the above exemption criteria, the quickest and simplest way to apply for an exemption is via the G2G PASS online form. Please submit your application at least 3 days prior to travel. By applying online, you can track your application status and will receive an email with the outcome of your application.

Alternatively, you can submit a paper-based exemption application form with supporting documentation.

If you are requesting entry on compassionate grounds or otherwise seeking approval to enter WA, you must not enter WA until you have received approval from WA Police via the G2G PASS app or email. Submitting an application for the reasons above does not constitute approval.

If you apply for approval to travel via the G2G PASS app, a QR code will be generated which can be displayed on a mobile phone and/or through a vehicle window without human contact.

If you apply for an exemption, you must carry your exemption form and proof of its submission when travelling. You may be asked to produce these documents at a checkpoint or by WA Police patrolling the area.

If your exemption category requires further documentation or proof, you must produce this on request. Failure to do so may result in penalties including imprisonment or a fine of up to $50,000 for individuals or $250,000 for organisations.

Returning to WA from international travel

If you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident arriving back in Australia, you’ll be subject to the Australian Government’s mandatory quarantine period of 14 days at your first Australian destination.

You will be provided with suitable accommodation to stay in during this period.

However, you will not be permitted to travel domestically (including to your home) or continue on any domestic connections until you have completed the 14 day mandatory quarantine period.

For more information visit the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Smart Traveller.

Returning to WA from domestic travel

If you are a Western Australian wishing to return home from domestic travel, before travelling, you will need to apply for an exemption to enter the State.

You can apply for an exemption to enter WA by applying for a G2G PASS.

If your application is accepted, you will need to self-isolate for 14 days once back in Western Australia. Authorised officers will tell you where and how to self-isolate. You need to comply with any other terms and conditions they impose.

If you are not an exempt traveller, you may commit an offence and be directed to leave Western Australia immediately, at your own expense.

It is highly recommended that you read the information on travel restrictions to determine if you meet the exempt traveller criteria.
