Make sure you have downloaded the Australian Government COVIDSafe App

Public gatherings limited to ten people in WA. Visit State and Territory websites for further enforcement information.

COVID-19 Information for workplaces (Ensuring the health and safety of workers and others at the workplace during COVID-19.)

Visa regulations: Visit the Department of Home Affairs website to keep updated on all developments.

Temporary visa holder arrangements for international students during COVID-19 – as at 30 April:

  • International students who have been in Australia longer than 12 months will be able to access their Australian superannuation.
  • Students unable to return to Australia to continue their studies may have their study deferred. This will not affect their visa status.
  • Students offshore and studying online with an Australian education provider do not need a visa. Education providers can issue a new Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) and enrol students to study online.

IELTS launches IELTS Indicator, a new online English language test for students and is available in countries where IELTS testing has been suspended due to COVID-19.

Translated coronavirus (COVID-19) resources: A list of resources about COVID-19 in other languages. The resources include fact sheets, guidelines and other publications.

The Australian Government announced 7 million funding to the Red Cross over the next six months to deliver emergency relief and casework support to temporary visa holders who are facing significant vulnerabilities. This funding is part of the $100 million funding injuction to more than 300 charities and community organisations. International Students and temporary visa holders who need help can email nat_rc_msp@redcross.org.au to register their situation.


OFFSHORE Current and Future PCBT Students’ Admissions/CoEs:

If you are one of the following categories:

  1. your Student Visa has NOT been granted – APPROVED Status
  2. or your student Visa has been granted – VISA GRANTED status
  3. or The student will not be returning on time – STUDYING status due to COVID-19:

For those students who will not be commencing on time or cannot continue to study due to COVID-19, please email Change of CoEs form to admissions@pcbt.wa.edu.au to create new CoEs. Please be informed that you do not need to be in Australia to commence and study your courses with PCBT if your preferred courses are one or a combination of:

  • Diploma of Leadership and Management
  • Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management
  • Certificate 4 in Business
  • Diploma of Business
  • Diploma of Hospitality Management
  • Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management
  • General English (ELICOS)
  • Certificate 4 in Commercial Cookery

Students overseas should only lodge visa applications when they are confident that they can satisfy requirements for a student visa application that may be required for assessment (e.g. Health check, English language testing and evidence of financial capacity).
